Working in the station

In Paracou, we welcome scientists, students, foresters, engineers and scholars. The access to the station is submitted to authorization and acceptance of the Cirad regulation rules.

Visitors have to apply and motivate applications with a scientific or educational project. Once the project is validated, visitorsmay stay in the station up to several months.

The team is available to answer any questions you may  have about the station and working in the forest. Please send your requests by e-mail : laetitia.proux@cirad.fr

On a day-to-day basis, the station operates in autonomy. There are no staff to assist visitors during their mission. Please note that there is no permanent presence of the staff on the station.
On request and after validation, some projects may be the subject of technical and/or administrative assistance from the team.

Field assistants from the Cirad, with expertise in the identification of  local fauna and flora as well as basic experimental setup, may be contracted for punctual assistance in the field, providing availability (contact Laetitia Proux). For long projects or projects requiring specific skills, we
however encourage the project leader to arrange for their own filed assistance as the Cirad staff main mission is the census of permanent plots.

On request, we can provide you with a list of contacts for independent field assistants (botanists, tree climbers, naturalist guides, etc.).
