Paracou research station hosted a field visit as part of the thematic school of the LabEx Ceba on Remote sensing and Biodiversity  that was held in Kourou between the 24 th and the 29 th of September. This thematic school was organised by Jérôme Chave from CNRS, Toulouse, and Grégoire Vincent, IRD, Montpellier, with the participation of five invited scientists, David Coomes (University ofCambridge), Mathias Disney (University College London), Jean-Baptiste Feret (IRSTEA-Montpellier), Maria Ferreira Dos Santos (Utrecht University) and Sassan Saatchi (NASA JPL Pasadena), and 13 doctoral and post-doctoral students. The field visit in Paracou started by a presentation of the Research station and its long-term experiments by Géraldine Derroire, followed by presentations of the Guyaflux project by Maricar Aguilos and of the P-Imbalance project by Laetitia Brechet. The visit of the flux tower and the experimental plots then offered the opportunity to carry on the discussions and experiment image taking with a Terrestrial Lidar System (TLS) (more on this on Mathias Disney’s blog ).
